A Local, Soil-Focused Lawn Care Company

NPK Lawn Care, LLC has served South Carolina property owners since 2006. We are locally owned and build lawn treatment plans around the condition of the turf, the soil beneath it and the seasonal pressures affecting the property. That approach is different from applying the same products to every yard on the same schedule.

Our work includes lawn treatments and fertilization, core aeration, lawn pest control, shrub treatments, topdressing and coastal palm care. We serve homeowners and businesses in Lexington, Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Conway, Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island.

What Does N-P-K Mean?

N-P-K refers to the three primary nutrients listed on most fertilizer labels: nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The numbers on a fertilizer bag show the percentage of each nutrient in the product.

  • Nitrogen (N) supports leaf growth and green color.
  • Phosphorus (P) supports root development and plant establishment.
  • Potassium (K) helps plants manage stress and regulate important growth processes.

The right balance depends on the grass variety, soil test, time of year and current lawn condition. Applying more fertilizer is not automatically better. A treatment should match what the lawn can use.

Why Soil Testing Matters

Brown grass, thin turf and repeated weed problems can have several causes. Soil pH, nutrient availability, drainage, compaction, irrigation and insect activity can all influence how a lawn responds. Soil information gives us a better starting point than appearance alone.

When appropriate, we use soil sampling and property observations to identify conditions that may limit growth. The treatment plan can then focus on the actual need instead of adding products that may not solve the problem.

Local Knowledge, Clear Recommendations

South Carolina lawns face long periods of heat, humidity, heavy rain and drought stress. Midlands properties may struggle with compacted soil, while coastal properties often need extra attention to sandy soil, nutrient movement and irrigation. We adjust recommendations to the region and the turf.

Our goal is to explain what we see, what we recommend and why it matters. Customers should understand the work being performed and have realistic expectations about how turf improves over time.
